served on recon patrol (65) missions 1967-1968 volunteered for recon patrol. my mos was 52b20 power man for generation. was wounded in right thigh, but have not been awarded purple heart, been turned down three times. i am still very disappointed, now 74 yrs old, feel like i was swept aside. i still want the purple before i die, its an honor to me and i was hit with scrapnel, which is still in my leg. was attended at camp anari by medical people my leg was swollen and i was told to let it heal and go back to recon. i was told if an operation was to be done, i would need to be sent home, which they said was not going to happen. iam distraught still. Larry Adkins or atkins was wounded at the same time as me he is from dayton ohio for proof of our injuries.
