Miami Senior High grad,1957.
Attended FSU and later graduated from Univ of Miami.
Joined RA in Jan 59, Married Jun 60. Son Mike born in Beaumont Army Hosp.,El Paso, TX 1961, Daughter Kim born Huntsville,AL
In 1963.
Commissioned in June 64 ,OCS Honor Grad. Assigned to 11th Air Assault and became part of 1st Cav Airmobile in July 65, Ft. Benning,GA
Departed for Vietnam on Gen. Maurice N Rose from Charleston,SC in Aug 65.
Served as the 3rd Platoon Leader of Charlie Company, 1st/7th
3rd Brig.1stCav Div Airmobile.
Badly wounded on 15 Nov 65 at LzXray and triaged as Unable to Survive. Nine months in Walter Reed and 2 Purple Hearts. Silver Star was downgraded to a Bronze with V for whatever reason?
Left active duty as Capt on 29 Dec 67. Was an A Team Commander in the 20th Special Forces beginning in 1968 in Miami and later Ft. Lauderdale,FL. Retired from USAR in Dec 1990.
Was both. Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Aviator and flew in civilian life as an Airline Transport Pilot.
Worked for Pan Am and Delta Airlines. Also an A&P Mechanic. Retired from the FAA as a Pilot/Aviation Safety Inspector in Jan.2002.
Awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Certificate for 50 years of Safety and Contributions to Aviation.
