biography
Entered the Corps the day after my 17th birthday. First duty station after boot camp and ITR and leave was Cherry Point, N.C. Got orders for staging in February 69. Completed staging in March 69 and was in Nam April 69. Initially they had no orders for me so I was in a transit platoon in Dong Ha burning honey buckets for about a month. (Still hate the smell of diesel fuel) Got orders and traveled by CH-46 to Quang Tri. From there I traveled by convoy to my unit to Ca Lu, Vandegrift Combat base.
