biography
Grew up in Collingswood, New Jersey. Attended Sharp Elementary School and Collingswood High School. Graduated with a degree in sociology from Bowling Green University.
Enlist in the United States Marine Corps after college. Attended OCS and The Basic School (TBS), Quantico, Virginia, followed by Combat Engineer and Engineer Equipment Officer Course at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Was given orders to Viet Nam arriving September 15, 1969. Stationed on several combat outposts northwest of DaNang.
Performed daily mine sweep and road clearing operations. Also utilized 2000 pound (C/4) line charges to locate mines through sympathetic detonation technique.
I was a member of the 1st Marine Division, 7th Engineer Battalion, Charlie Company, 4th Platoon Commander. Our responsibility was mine clearing and explosive demolitions. Received National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with 1 * Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Stationed back at Camp Lejeune for six months before being discharged and returning to home to Collingswood, New Jersey where I began my 35 years in medical and bio medical sales.
Happily married to my wife Diane and I'm the father of four (Lisa, Christopher, Michael and Patrick) grandfather to Alexis. Retired and working with Veterans. Currently living in Saint Charles, Illinois
