biography
I started my career in the Navy on a destroyer escort the USS Dealey DE 1006 out of Newport, RI. I spent most of the time on this ship in the Atlantic with trips to Cuba for war games. I was sent to boat school in April of 1968. The school was at Mare Island in CA. After training we went to Vietnam where we were stationed on our boats in the river outside Dong Tam. During that time we worked witrh the 9th infantry and then SEAL Teams in Chau Doc. I came home from Vietnam in August of 1969 and was sent to a destroyer out of San Diego until my discharge.
