biography
I graduated from Northglenn High School in May of 1971. On August 30 1971, I enlisted into the Navy. My service number was B677595. My basic training was in San Diego, Ca. I was in Company 288. I remember serving with a guy from Renton, WA, Robert W. Stone, Jr. He was stationed wherever I was stationed. After basic training, I went to RM "A" school, RM "C" school, and basic Crypto school which were also in San Diego. After RM school, I was stationed at NavCommSta Guam for about 15 months. My last 2 years of active service was aboard the USS Blue Ridge LCC-19. On August 29, 1975, I was released from active service. I took an Amtrak train from San Diego up to Oakland and across country back home to Denver, CO. After serving, I was employed at a self-service car wash, a cashier with the now defunct Hugh M. Woods building supplies company, Neodata ( a magazine subscription fulfillment company), and finally The U S Postal Service where I retired from on August 30, 2019. As a footnote, I had a "company" yearbook (1971) and a "cruise" yearbook (1974-75) which I am unable to find.
