biography
I grew up in a Navy family living in many places, notably in Florida, Panama, Washington, DC, California, Naples (Italy), Rhode Island, and Virginia.
I graduated from American University School of International Service in Washington, DC, class of 1968.
I joined the Navy in 1968, attending Navy OCS in 1968-69. I then served on the USS Berkeley (DDB-15) as First Lieutenant, including a six-month deployment to WESTPAC and Viet Nam. I then served on the USS Plainiew (AGEH-1) as First Lieutenant in Bremerton, WA in 1971-72.
After leaving active duty I became a drilling reservist from 1972 until I retired around 1991.
After leaving active duty I attended seminary at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA. I then served as an Episcopal parish priest in the Diocese of Oregon, starting a new congregation in Silverton and serving parishes in Salem, Lincoln City and Medford. I have continued in retirement serving as both an interim priest and supply priest in varied congregations.
