biography

I graduated b0ot camp in San Diego As a Seaman Apprentace and reported aboard the USS Constallation CVA-64 two weeks later. Within a few days we began our 1966 deployment to Vietnam. I was assigned to 2nd Division for the majority of the deployment. While in 2nd Division I did many things, but the most memorable was becoming a qualified helmsman. After our second visit to Hong Kong, and a promotn to Airman I was was transferrred to OC Division where I wrked inthe Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC). n 1967, while steamig back to the war, I received orders to ACA School in Georgia. Disambarking at Pearl Harbor I flew back to the mainland, graduated from the school and was assigend to NAS Miramar, San Diego. I was eventually qualified and licensed as an Air Traffic Controller at Miramar. I returned to civilian life inlate 1969.
