biography
Grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.
Enlisted into the Marines after high School with two friends, Howard Dennis and Rick Carnes.
After boot camp and ITR was stationed at Support Bn, 29Palms.
Was with Hq Btty, 4/11 and went by ship, USS Merrick and USS Talladega with a stop for 2 weeks of jungle training at Camp Hansen, Okinawa and then landed on Chu Lai beach in Mar. of '66. Had 3 base camps with last one 30 mi. S of DaNang. Left VN 2/67. Numerous operations. Served at Barstow, Calif until Aug 30th, '67 when discharged.
