biography
Joined Marine Corps in June 1966 prior to graduation; entered service at Parris Island Recruit Depot on August 31; basic, then ITR at Geiger; home for 30 days (Christmas and New Year's); Pendleton in SoCal for staging battalion and ship on ocean for 28 days to Da Nang harbor and offloaded down the side of the ship; assigned to 1st Plt Fox 2/4 which was at Dai Loc and after Operations Big Horn 1 & 2, we moved to Camp Evans. Remember a lot of what happened that summer of '67, including being hungry all the time, eating Buddha's bananas off the mantelpiece in the hooches, whenever I had the chance; even a red hot pepper growing on a bush as I passed by (don't reccomend); oh, and the worst thing I did? Must've been angry at something, because I killed a goose in a yard with the butt of my rifle; don't exactly know why, and don't exactly know who to apologize to, except to God...
