After separation from the Army in September 1970 I was employed by Raytheon Corp until September 1971 when I was accepted for a technical position with NASA. After training at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, I was assigned to the NASA Tracking Station, Cooper's Island, Bermuda. Bermuda is an island in the Atlantic Ocean, east of Cape Hatteras, NC. After my assignment in Bermuda, I was transferred to the NASA Tracking Station at Rosman, NC. I was a Telemetry Technician supporting Apollo, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz missions as well as satellite data downloads. After those assignments I accepted a position with a startup tech company from Ann Arbor, MI. I started as an Engineering Tech. While assigned remotely in Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC, I received a call from a headhunter representing a tech startup in Palo Alto, CA. After a phone interview I accepted a position as a Field Engineer, stationed in Greenville, SC, where I met and married by wife Kathleen. Our first son Geoffrey was born in Greenville. In 1981, I transferred to Florida to open an office for the company. In 1986, I transferred back to SC, but to Lexington, SC, where our second son, Bradley, was born, and we still reside today. My last employer was NCR Corporation from which I retired from in 2010 as a Systems Engineer. My wife retired in 2018 from Harsco as EHS Manager. Retirement is even better after my wife retired.
