biography
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Went to St. Helena Grammar and High School. Attended CCNY for one year before being drafted on 12/7/65
Induction was from Whitehall St. in NYC to Ft. Jackson, SC.
Basic training at Ft. Lewis, WA with the 4th Division, 3rd Battalion, 12th Infantry with Sgt Mallory.
After basic, I was assigned to Company S-4 under Major Ridpath.
Left for Vietnam with the advanced party, by air, two weeks before my unit left, by boat.
Received the Army Commendation Medal for the work we did in setting up our camp in Tuy Hoa.
After leaving Tuy Hoa for Pleiku, I was assigned to the 1st Brigade G1 under Major Haste.
I extended in Vietnam for two weeks so I could get an early out. Served 21 months instead of 24.
