It all started in 1943 on a snowy day in October when I was born in Lenawee County, Michigan. I grew up on the family dairy farm. In 1957 we moved to Jackson County, Michigan, where I graduated High School from Hanover Horton High School in 1961. Not wanting to work on the farm, I started working at a factory. Married Karen Neitzel on July 17, 1965. I started working for Chrysler Corporation in 1966 as a Driver Mechanic and taking classes at Jackson Community College.
April 1968, I received my draft notice to report for induction into the Army. After completing basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. I was sent home on leave with orders to report to Oakland Personnel Center. This is where I found out that I was to report to Fort Shafter, Hawaii motor pool. At Fort Shafter I was assigned to the Tripler Army Hospital sub motor pool. Here I was a motor pool dispatcher and driver. The motor pool conducted medical evacuations, bus transportation and support for the Hospital. I returned home to Michigan in April 1970 and was honorably discharged in April 1974.
The fall of 1970 I started college at Tri State University, Angola, Indiana in Mechanical Engineering. I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I then returned to Chrysler where I worked as an engineer. I worked at various job sites until I retired from Auburn Hills, Michig
